Wilfred Tysoe obtained his B.Sc. degree in Chemical Physics from the University of Manchester in England, an M.Sc degree in Physical Chemistry from the University of Sydney, Australia and a Ph.D in surface science from the University of Cambridge in England. He taught physics and chemistry in Ghana, worked in the Plessey Company in England and carried out post-doctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley. He is currently Distinguished Professor of Chemistry the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a founding editor of Tribology Letters. He has over 320 refereed publications in the area of surface science applied to catalysis, tribology and the growth of novel interfaces.
